How Old Was Johann Sebastian Bach, When He Became Father?
Johann Sebastian Bach married his first wife, his second cousin Maria Barbara Bach on October 17th in the year 1707. At that time Bach worked in Muehlhausen. In July 1708 the Bachs moved on to Weimar. On December 29th 1708 dates the baptism of Catherina Dorothea Bach. So, Johann Sebastian Bach became father for the first time, when he was twenty-three years old.
