In Which Cities Did Johann Sebastian Bach Work?
Already in Eisenach Johann Sebastian Bach accompanied his father Johann Ambrosius to festivals, marriages and funerals, where he sang. In Ohrdruf he lived for a while, and he made money there with music too. In Lüneburg he went on with his time in school and again he made music for money. The students were allowed to keep a part of this collected money for themselves and to add it to their scholarship. After returning to Thuringia, Bach's career began shortly after that. It started in Weimar, and went on in Arnstadt, later Mühlhausen, Weimar again, Köthen and finally Leipzig. There were five cities, where Johann Sebastian Bach was employed through his life.
