Bach FAQ 43

Did Johann Sebastian Bach

Compose a Lot of Music?

Johann Sebastian Bach didn't just compose much music, he composed markedly much music. Over 1,100 pieces of him are preserved today. However, the most renowned Bach Scientist in the world, the Leipzig professor Christoph Wolff believes, that these some 1,100 works are only ten percent of the overall work. That means with a total of some 11,000 works Johann Sebastian Bach surely would have been the most productive composer of all times too.
